MOA Signing between Bayer and UPLBFI

The Bayer Crop Science, Inc. and the University of the Philippines Los Baños Foundation, Inc. (UPLBFI) signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the project titled “Automated Trichogramma Egg Classification System” on May 22, 2026, at the UPLBFI Board Room.

The project aims to develop an automated tool that will help researchers minimize the effects of pesticides on beneficial insects.

Head – ATC SEA Allan D. Velilla signed the agreement on behalf of Bayer, while OIC-Executive Director Rolando T. Bello represented UPLBFI.

The project will be led by Dr. Val Randolf M. Madrid of the Computing Interdisciplinary Research Laboratories (CINTERLABS) – University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB), who also witnessed the agreement signing together with Bayer Regulatory Affairs Manager Carlo Leo U. Cabral.
