Brief Background
The UPLB Foundation Incorporated (UPLBFI) was established to assist University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) in expanding and optimally utilizing its human, financial and material resources toward accelerated and sustainable economic development.
The UPLBFI was established in 1977 as a non-profit, non-stock, non-political and non-sectarian private organization duly registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Accreditations
As a certified science foundation by the Department of Science and Technology, UPLBFI's earnings are dedicated to scientific pursuits within the meaning of Sec. 24 of the Republic Act No. 2067, as amended by Republic Act No. 3589.
Recently, UPLBFI was granted a three-year accreditation by the Philippine Council for NGO Certification (PCNC) as a non-profit organization.
